Ruth C. Minnitte, 102, a lifelong resident of Monaca passed away quietly on Saturday morning, Oct 9, 2010 at Providence Care Center, Beaver Falls.
Born July 12, 1908, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Clara (Forsythe) Grabert.
A retired Monaca Junior High School teacher who taught for over 40 years in the district, Mrs Minnitte was well loved and respected by her former students.
She was the oldest member of the First Presbyterian Church of Monaca where she had formerly taught the young adult class and served as a church elder.
Mrs. Minnitte was a longtime member and past president for several terms of the Junior Women?s Club and was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Naomi Chapter #55.
She was a graduate of Monaca High School and Geneva College.
In addition to her parents, Mrs Minnitte was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph and two sisters: Mae Grabert and Caroline Sowash.
She leaves a niece, Carolyn LeGoullon of Oil City and three great nephews and their families.
Friends will be received Tuesday from 11 am until the time of services at 1 pm in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Av., Monaca. Her pastor, the Reverend Beth Wierman-Lambert will officiate. Interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park. The family has requested memorial contributions be made if desired to the First Presbyterian Church , 1301 Indiana Ave, Monaca, PA 15061.
Her family fondly remembers her love for the color ?blue?. Everything she owned, drove or wore either was purchased ?blue? or got painted ?blue?. In honoring her memory, please wear something blue to her visitation and funeral service.
