Sam R. Brown Jr., passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 4, 2023, at the Masonic Village in Sewickley, at the age of 70.

Sam was a son of the late Samuel R. Sr. and Betty Brown, growing up in a tight-knit family on Atlantic Avenue in Monaca. In his early years, Sam spent his time developing a love for automobiles that would stay with him throughout life. He schooled at Penn State University.

As a devoted car enthusiast, one of his greatest joys was watching drag races. Alongside his passion for racing, Sam owned a few classic cars and acquired an extensive collection of die-cast model cars. He also was a music lover with a sizeable collection of Rock ‘n Roll music.

Family was a significant part of Sam’s life. He is survived by his son, Josh (Samantha) Brown and was overjoyed when his grandkids, Jacob and Lucy, were born. In addition to his immediate family, Sam is also survived by his loving sister, Jane Roberts, who remained a steadfast companion throughout his life. Though they mourn the loss of Sam’s son, the late Jason Samuel Brown who passed in 1978 and his brother-in-law Roy Roberts, Sam’s family will fondly remember the times they spent together.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, June 7th from 11 AM until the time of services at 2 PM at SIMPSON FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca (724) 724 4000 with Reverend Kevin Neal, officiating. Interment will follow at Mt Olivet Presbyterian Cemetery, Hanover Township.

The family wishes to express their appreciation to the Masonic Village staff and Gallagher Hospice for the exceptional care Sam received during his two year stay.
