Sandra Jean Covert Knopp, 70 of Center Township went to be at peace with the Lord on Friday evening, November 13, 2015. In 2011, Sandra suffered a debilitating stroke.Born February 5, 1945, she was a daughter of the late Gilbert and Lena (Kendall) Covert.Sandra was raised in Aliquippa and was a graduate of Aliquippa High School.The majority of her working career was in healthcare employed in doctor’s offices. Her family jokingly referred to her as ‘Dr. Sandy’ when she would recommend a remedy for their ailments. In her leisure time, Sandy enjoyed watching classic movies and spending time and attending events with her card club and Bible study group friends. Her faith in God was known by everyone who knew her.Sandra was ‘Mah’ to her three children: Robert E. Knopp, Jr of Beaver; Lorraine Brown of Beaver Falls and Pam Park and her husband, Doug of East Palestine, Ohio. She was known as ‘Grammy Doodle and MeMa to her grandchildren: Jessica (Shaun) McRoberts, Rob Knopp, Ron Leopold, Kylie, Hunter and Cannon Brown, Matthew, Albert and Nicholas Park. Her great grandchildren: Aislynn, Garrett, Kalis and Kaydance. She also leaves a sister, Dolly Maderia of Beaver , two nieces: Debbie Lindemann and LeeAnn Cametti and her former husband, Robert E. Knopp, Sr. of Center Twp. as well as several groups of close friends that she greatly cherished.Friends will be received on Tuesday, Nov 17^th from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Ave., Monaca, where services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the Reverend Doug Rabe officiating.Due her great love of animals, particularly dogs, the family has suggested memorial contributions be made, if desired to the Beaver County Humane Society, 3394 Brodhead Road, Center Twp., Pa. 15001\”The world is a different place today.
