Sarah was born to Jean and Jack Duncan on April 29, 1948, and grew up in Beaver County. She met Albert Albano at the Beaver County Home in Ambridge, PA, and later married him in Rochester, PA, on September 23, 1978. They resided in Beaver County and spent their later years as residents of Friendship Ridge/Brighton Rehab & Wellness in Beaver, PA. Sarah was baptized a Christian and had a strong faith in God. She was a gentle soul who enjoyed shopping, reading magazines especially National Geographic, birds, and watching classic movies.
Sarah died on Saturday night, July 13, 2019, at Good Samaritan Hospice in Heritage Valley Hospital, Beaver, PA. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Albert Albano in 2017, sister-in-law Jenny (Albano) and brother-in-law Louis Di Thomas of New Castle, PA, Dominick Albano of Anaheim, CA, Sara (Albano) Balla of New Castle, PA, Rosie (Albano) Thomas of Zelienople, PA, Lena (Albano) Palm Zatkovich of Ellwood City, PA, and Salvatore “Sammy” and Donna Albano of Moore, OK. She is survived by many nieces and nephews including Christine, Mary, Annie, Grace, Sarah and Joseph Di Thomas, Jimmy Balla, Laurel Faiola and Scott, Mary Fran, Ann-Marie and Steve Albano. Funeral arrangements were by Simpson Funeral Home in Monaca, PA. No visiting hours were held. A private burial will be held in Locust Grove Cemetery in Ellwood City, PA.
The family would like to acknowledge and thank Sarah’s caregiver Shelby, her Social Worker, Sue Raymond, and her Nurse Practitioner, Nancy Brooks-Kohler, and other physicians, nurses and staff from Friendship Ridge/ Brighton Wellness. The family also thanks RNs Kristin and Michelle from Good Samaritan Hospice.
