Shirley Ann (Ferris) DeBacco, 69, a resident of Venice, FL, went to be with her Lord and Savior Tuesday morning, May 15, 2012, at Venice Memorial Hospital. The wife of Ronald DeBacco for 49 years, Shirley was born May 3, 1943, in Rochester, PA. Shirley was a dedicated homemaker and also an employee of The Prevention Project of the Beaver County Community College. She was an active member of St. John the Baptist Parish, Monaca, and later St. Francis Cabrini Parish, Center Twp. Most recently Shirley was a member of Epiphany Cathedral Catholic Church in Venice, FL. Shirley was a 1962 graduate of Rochester High School and also attended the Community College of Beaver County and Geneva College in Beaver Falls, PA.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Virginia (Pinchotti) Ferris, father- and mother-in-law, Vincent and Mary DeBacco, sister Pamela (Ferris) Vint and many other beloved aunts and uncles.
Shirley is survived by two sons, Michael DeBacco and Vincent DeBacco; daughter-in-law, Elizabeth DeBacco; granddaughter, Isabella DeBacco; brother- and sister-in-law, Richard and Linda DeBacco; sisters, Pauline Massa and husband, Jack, Sandy Byrd and husband, Kelly, Colette Ferris-Shotton and husband, John, and brother-in-law, Jeff Vint; aunts and uncles include Dominic Yacovoni, Attilio DiBacco, Evelyn Swain, Edna and John Davis and Robert and Ann Primo and many caring cousins, nieces and nephews. Shirley will always be remembered for her dedication to her family and keeping Jesus Christ first in her life.
Family and friends are welcome to call from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, May 19th and from 1 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, May 20th, at Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Ave., Monaca. Prayers will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Monday, May 21st, at the funeral home followed by a mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Monaca, presided over by Reverend Fr. George F. Chortos.
Interment will follow the mass in the parish cemetery.
