Shirley J. Witherow DeChellis 70, of Rochester Township passed away on Sunday, October 14, 2018 in Good Samaritan Hospice, Heritage Valley, Beaver surrounded by her family and friends.Born in New Brighton, she was the daughter of Martha (Bingiel) and the late Robert H. Witherow. Following graduation from Rochester High School, Shirley married her high school sweetheart, John “Dee” DeChellis. The couple have shared 51 years of marriage.Shirley loved her family. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy and she greatly enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s sporting and social events, family dinners, and traveling with her husband and friends. Her favorite past times were gardening, painting, and fishing. Shirley was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Rochester and previously served as the general manager of Filter Queen of Western Pennsylvania for many years.Shirley is survived by her loving husband, John “Dee” DeChellis of Rochester Township, a daughter and son in law, Melissa “Missie” (Marvin) Leonard of Enon Valley, a son and daughter in law, Jon-Paul (Karen) DeChellis of Hopewell Township, her grandchildren; Antonio, Gianna and Natalia DeChellis, all of Hopewell Township, her mother, Martha Witherow of Nettles Island, FL, brothers and sisters in law, Dennis (Nancy) Witherow of Port St. Lucie, FL. and Robert L. (Terri) Witherow of Jensen Beach, FL, her loving nieces and nephews and many loving friends that were family to her.She was preceded in death by her father, Robert H. Witherow.Friends will be received on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 pm in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca where prayers will be offered at 9:15 am on Thursday followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St. Cecelia Catholic Church, Rochester.The family would like to thank the nurses of Good Samaritan Hospice for their compassionate care.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Shirley’s memory to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
