Shirley Jean (Kaiser) Plaskonos, 82, of Center Township, peacefully passed away, Friday, June 6, 2014, at Good Samaritan Hospice at Heritage Valley Beaver, following an extended illness.Born September 9, 1931, in Pittsburgh, she was a daughter of the late Clarence C. Kaiser and Ruth (Link) Kaiser Pierce.In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her son, John Bokach, in 2013; a second husband of 35 years, Stephen Plaskonos, in 2010; a step-father, John Pierce, and a beloved nephew, Mark Kaiser.She is survived by two brothers, Jerry (Claudette) Kaiser of Cortland, Ohio, and Richard J. (Nancy) Kaiser of Seymour, Tennessee; an aunt, Margaret Frazier of Coraopolis; three nephews, Kim (Kathy) Kaiser of Midland, Aaron (Jessica) Kaiser of Montville, New Jersey, and Todd (Mary) Kaiser of Glenshaw; three great-nieces, Erica Record of Beaver, Danielle Cummings of Midland, and Lauren Kaiser of Center Township; along with several great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews, Kate and Jack Record, Claire Cummings and Ian, Abigail and Eli Kaiser, who brought a gleam to her eyes.. She also leaves behind a dearly loved pet, Angel.Shirley graduated from Midland High School in 1950 and worked as an office manager at Crucible Steel in Midland. She was also the manager of Midland Heights Homes for several years before leaving work to care for her son, John Bokach, at home until he passed away last year.Her loving family and dear friends will miss her caring ways and her sense of humor up until her final hours. The family wishes to extend their deepest thanks to the Trinity Oaks Personal Care facility in Brighton Township for the past several months and to the staff of Good Samaritan Hospice for her final few days. Also appreciated is the companionship provided by her good friends, Martha, Dee and Linda throughout her illness.Per Shirley’s wishes, family and friends will be received Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca. Reverend Father Michael Yaksick, pastor of St. Blaise Catholic Church in Midland will officiate.
