One of my earliest memories of Uncle Stush was about golf. We lived with Grandma for a couple of years while Stush and Honey were still at home. When all four brothers were off work at the same time, they walked up the hill to the golf course. Unfortunately, if Mum was working, they got stuck with me. First, Daddy cut down a putter to my size, but that was a weapon of great danger. Then I wanted to keep score, but that was too difficult for my first-grade math skills. Finally, someone handed me a basket, showed me the difference between a mushroom and potentially poisonous toadstool and I went skipping off like a little elf gathering mushrooms in the rough. Grandma cooked them with potatoes and she must have done quality assurance on my choices since the family survived. Note: I naver learned to play golf and I'd never eat a mushroom I picked in the wild. Niece Jinny Spann
