Stanley “Bob” Shannon, 67, a lifelong resident of Center Township, passed away on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at Heritage Valley, Beaver.
Born on June 21, 1954, he was the son of Fred Edwin and Charlotte (Henderson) Shannon. Bob graduated from Center Area High School, Class of 1972. He was first employed at Sweet Williams at the Beaver Valley Mall while in high school. He spent the majority of his working career at Zinc Corporation/Horsehead Industries from where he retired as a shift foreman following 32 years of employment. Bob was a member of the Monaca United Methodist Church and bowled for many years with the MUMC league. He enjoyed golf trips with his work buddies, loved to fish and camp at Pymatuning and was a member of the Serro Scotty Trailer Camping Club.
Bob is survived by his wife, Mary Beth Lynch Ziegler-Shannon, two sons, Christopher (Brenda) Ziegler and Phillip Ziegler, three very special granddaughters, JayLynn, Josie and Haylee Ziegler, three sisters, Nancy Steele, Doris Forse, and Barbara Alger, two brothers in law, Bill (Charlotte) Lynch of Greenville, SC and Don (Denise) Lynch of Monaca, and many loving nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Fred Shannon, a sister, Mary Jane Vandergrift, and a brother in law, Frank Lynch.
Friends will be received on Monday, November 22, 2021 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 6:00 to 8:00 pm in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca where a service will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in Beaver Cemetery, Beaver.
