Stella Frances Wisz, 90, formerly of Monaca, passed away Sunday afternoon, January 12, 2014, at Friendship Ridge.
Born May 7, 1923, in Jenners, (Somerset County), she was a daughter of the late Sylvester and Mary Wisz. Stella attended Monaca High School before working as a sales clerk at Pittsburgh Merchantile, Aliquippa, for a number of years. She later was employed by Interstate Amesite, Monaca, and Kitchen & Bath Concepts, Pittsburgh, as a secretary. Stella was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and Polish National Alliance (PNA), both in Monaca.
She leaves a sister, Kay Trzcinski and her husband, Stanley, of Beaver Falls; a brother, John Wisz and his wife, Delores, of Beaver; three nephews, Thomas (Karen) Trzcinski of Beaver Falls: James (Shauna) Trzcinski in Colorado and Dennis (Fran) Trzcinski in California; four special cousins, Andrew and Chester Wilczek of Monaca, Edward Wilczek in Missouri and Shirley (Bill) Buiney of Youngstown along with several cousins, nephews and nieces.
In addition to her parents, Stella was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph and Edward Wisz.
A private blessing service was held Wednesday, January 15, 2014, at 1:30 p.m. in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Ave., Monaca. Interment will follow in St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the staff at Friendship Ridge, 5 Main, and Dr. George Brett for the care and compassion Stella received during her stay.
