Sterling Hewitt, ?Huey?, 77, of Brighton Twp., formerly of Monaca, passed away Thursday, June 28, 2012, at his residence with his family at his side.
Born January 29, 1935, in Mill Run (Fayette Co.), he was a son of the late William and Marie Hewitt. In 1999, Sterling retired from NF&M Corp., Monaca. A member of First Presbyterian Church of Monaca, he was a former member of the Monaca P.N.A. and Freedom Eagles. Sterling was a CB radio operator and his handle was ?Lamplighter?.
His family includes his wife of 52 years, Elizabeth ?Betty? Hewitt; two daughters, Sue Graham of Chippewa Twp. and the late Brenda Lee Hewitt; three grandsons, Matthew, Travis and Austin ; a great-grandson, McCartney plus an expected great-grandchild; six brothers, Bill, Richard, Gary, Phil, the late Kenny and the late Dwayne; two sisters, Connie Brickner and Lorraine Day and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Ave., Monaca, where funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m.. His pastor, Rev. Beth Wierman, will officiate.
Interment will follow in St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery.
