Stewart M. Copeland, 73, of Monaca, passed away Monday, September 3, 2012, at Heritage Valley Beaver.
Born May 30, 1939, in Wilkinsburg, he was a son of the late Howard N. and Ellen M. (Bradley) Copeland. As a young man he served his country as a U S Army peacetime veteran. Stewart was employed at J&L Steel (LTV), Aliquippa Works, for 21 years before retiring and later worked at King?s Family Restaurant, Monaca. A member of Trinity Anglican Church, Beaver, he served as an usher and was a member of the Men?s Club. Stewart was also a member of Monaca American Legion, Post 580. He enjoyed gardening in his leisure time and was a great husband and loved his family and friends.
He leaves his wife of 44 years, Lorraine Lisowsky Copeland, whom he married October 7, 1967; two sisters, Ellen M. (Bob) Andrulis and Lillian J. Oskowski; two nephews and one niece; five great-nephews and two great-nieces and his beloved cat, ?Ronnie?.
Friends will be received on Thursday, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm and on Friday from 10?10:40 am in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Ave., Monaca. A burial services will follow on Friday at 11 am in Trinity Anglican Church, beaver with her rector, Father Scott Homer, officiating. Interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park where full military honors will be provided by the Beaver County Special Unit.
