Susan Lynn (Limberg) Matteo, 66 of Monaca passed away on Friday evening, February 28, 2020 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh following an extended illness.
A daughter of the late A. Fred and Mildred (Cameron) Limberg, Sue was raised in Monaca. Upon graduation from Monaca High School in 1971, she traveled for a few years throughout the United States to experience life prior to returning to Monaca. Sue was first employed as a waitress at the former Echo Point Dairy where she worked with one of her life long friends, Anna Marie McGown. Not afraid of manual labor, Sue gained employment with J & L Steel Corporation’s tin mill where she remained until the mill closed. She then managed a local Wendy’s restaurant where she met Debby George who became one of her best friends. She was last employed with Heritage Valley, Beaver. Sue was a huge supporter of her children and their outside activities, an avid Pittsburgh sports fan and enjoyed decorating her home for every occasion.
She leaves a son, Frank E Matteo of Miami, Florida and a daughter, Mollie Sue Matteo of Monaca. Her brother, Fred (Betsy) Limberg of Kennedy Township . Two nephews, Ian and Andrew (Jessica) Limberg. Two great nephews, Will and Denton. Her former husband, Frank Matteo and her canine companion and best buddy, Pierce. As one who would welcome everyone into her home and was everyone’s ‘mom’, she leaves a multitude of loving friends.
Friends will be received on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca where a blessing service will be held on Thursday at 11 A.M. with a close family friend, Sister Kathleen Gallagher, officiating.
