Sylvia Lorayne (Douglass) Motter, 82, of Monaca (Center Township), entered into her eternal rest with her Savior Jesus Christ early Tuesday morning, April 10, 2018 at her home.Born on August 5, 1935 at home in Robert’s Hollow, Elizabeth, PA, she was the youngest of 13 children of the Late Reverend Nelson and Isabella (Stinogle) Douglass. Sylvia was a telephone operator in Elizabeth before she moved to Beaver County in the late 1950s. She performed much volunteer work over her lifetime, always with a smile on her face. Sylvia was active in Church, playing piano, teaching Sunday School, working in VBS and more. She will be missed by many.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 9 brothers; Nelson, Vernon, Raymond, Stan, Sam, Paul, Charles, Elijah and Leonard, 2 Sisters; Grace and Isabella, one grandson, Alexander McMahon, two twin great grandsons; Alexander and Jessie McMahon.Sylvia is survived by her husband of 62 years, Ralph Motter of Monaca, a son and daughter in law Daniel and Deborah Motter of Slatington, PA, a daughter, Suzanne Motter of Monaca, and a daughter and son in law Reverend Scott and Nancy McMahon of Rochester, five grandchildren;Wil (Rhonda) McMahon of New Brighton, Kaitlyn, Douglass and Grace McMahon of Rochester, Zachary Motter of Slatington, a sister Margaret Robbie of Brighton Township and numerous nieces and nephews.As per her wishes there will be no viewing and she will be cremated. A celebration of her life and love for others will take place on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the New Brighton Church of the Nazarene, 417 Penn Avenue, New Brighton with Reverend Donald W. MacNeil and Sylvia’s son in law, Reverend Scott W. McMahon, co-officiating.
