Theresa G. (Zagar) Petures, 82 of Monaca, passed away on December 12, 2017 in Gilbert, Arizona.Born, October 15, 1935 in West Aliquippa, she was the daughter of the late Anton and Mary (Padavich) Zagar. She grew up and lived in West Aliquippa before moving to Monaca with her husband and children in 1969, where she lived for the remainder of her life.Theresa was a parishioner of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Monaca where she was an active member of the parish’s Christian Mothers. She graduated from St. Veronica High School and was an avid bowler in her younger days. Theresa enjoyed reading and beating tough word puzzles and loved spending time with her Wednesday Ladies Card Club.In addition to her parents, Theresa was preceded in death by her husband, John T. Petures, Sr. in 2005 and also by her siblings, Lawrence, John, Anthony, Mary and William. She is survived by her sisters, Sister Mary Elizabeth Zagar, OSF, of Millvale, Rose Marie Stucker of Beaver Falls and Catherine Zagar of Monaca. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Peg Petures of Monaca (Franklin “Bay”, deceased).Also surviving are her three children and their spouses. Mary Kay and Joe Vargo, Economy Borough, John T. Petures, Jr. and Cindy, Stow, OH, and Diane and Daniel Tepovich, Gilbert, AZ. Nine grandchildren, Abby (Shawn) McCall, Amanda (Dan) Masciola and Travis Vargo and his girlfriend Rachael Cooper, Stephen Petures, Ashlee (Anthony) Sands, and Brittany Petures and her fiancé Doug Doren, Scott (Megan) Swink, Jocelyn, (Dan) Carroll and Daniel Tepovich. Theresa was also blessed with nine great-grandchildren: Noah, Edward, Connor, Rylee, Victoria, Emily, Kaden, Aria Theresa and Tyler. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and oh how she loved her entire family. Theresa was also the proud godmother of Judy Packer and Beth Ann Bedekovich.Friends will be received on Thursday, December 21, 2017 from 1:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m.in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Ave., Monaca, PA. Prayers will also be offered at 9:30 a.m. on the morning of Friday, December 22 followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 1409 Pennsylvania Ave. in Monaca.
