Thomas Keith McNear, age 59, of Mims, Florida, formerly of Center Township, passed away March 6, 2012, leaving this world into the open arms of our heavenly Father.
Born August 23, 1952, in Rochester, he was the son of Betty (McNear) Eder of Brighton Township, formerly of Center Township, and the late Fred Eder.
Tom was a graduate of Center High School, Class of 1970. He worked as a crane operator for J&L Steel until the mill closed. He moved to Florida in 1983 where he worked as a crane operator for R and L May Company and as a porter for Carnival Cruise Line at Port Canaveral. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Mims, Florida.
He leaves behind in addition to his mother, three sons, Thomas McNear and Brad (Ashley) McNear, both of East Palestine, Ohio and Jessie (Trish) McNear of Beaver Falls; his four grandchildren, Logan, Kiera, Sydney and Brady McNear; three brothers, Walt (Joan) McNear and Richard McNear in Florida and James McNear of New Brighton; three sisters, Elizabeth Hinkle in Florida, Jean Flint of Center Township and Patty Eder of Brighton Township and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Tom was preceded in death in addition to his father, by his birth parents, Harry Lewis and Marie (Winkle) McNear; a brother, Harry Lee in January 2012 and a sister, Donna Wosotowsky in April 2007.
Tom was known for his great smile and telling jokes to family and friends. He was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. He enjoyed playing pool, listening to the ?Oldies? and had many other hobbies.
