Anthony G. DiMatteo of Center Township, known by all as Tony, was beloved by all who knew him. Tony was a loving son, a devoted husband, and father, and a loyal brother, uncle, and friend. After a short COVID-19 related illness, Tony has departed this earthly life on Saturday, January 2, 2021.
By trade, Tony was an experienced and talented kitchen designer, enjoying a long and successful career, most recently working for Cabinet World of Center Township and Cranberry Township.
He was always available to serve the community and lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He loved the Steelers and following the local sports teams. But, most of all, he loved following his son Sam’s lifelong baseball journey and career as well as watching and supporting his daughter, Sheena as she danced as a young girl and continues to enjoy a dance career to this day. Tony’s support and encouragement throughout the years were key in both of his children to follow their dreams.
Tony had the ability to make anyone feel loved and welcomed with his big smile, genuine warmth, always positive attitude, and his affinity for conversation and loving people.
Always happy and energetic, he loved his family and home life above all else. He found joy, satisfaction, and beauty in the simplicity of living. He was a devout Christian who enjoyed learning, sharing, and reading about his faith. He proudly served his church, St. Frances Cabrini Parish, as an usher for the congregation.
At the center of his life and most important to him, was his relationship and partnership with his college sweetheart and wife of 38 years, Julie. The two of them enjoyed many happy years experiencing life together, with lots of love and laughs.
He is already missed beyond measure.
Tony is survived by his wife, Julie (Regney) DiMatteo, his children, Sheena DiMatteo (Phil Provencio) of Astoria, NY and Sam DiMatteo of Palm Springs, CA, his parents, Salvatore and Adelina DiMatteo, his brothers and sisters, Rosa (Dennis) Majzlik of Monaca, Marisa (Sam) DiNardo of Aliquippa, Mina (Ron) Paul of Steubenville, OH and Mimmo DiMatteo of Aliquippa, his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Donald and Anita Regney, his brothers and sisters in law, Donald (Suzanne) Regney, and Rusty (Sherry)
