Verna is survived by her only daughter Kathleen Johnston Parone (Bill Davidson), her 2 granddaughters Kaitlin Simon (Scot) and Kallie Haschke (Brian), 5 great grandchildren Elle and Sidney Simon and Killian, Kieran and Kit Haschke. Verna is survived by her dear brother William Mcginnis and her brother-in-law Scott Johnston, her niece Melissa Carricato and nephew Billy McGinnis and two special family members whom she loved Christina (Parone) Buchleitner and Jamie (Parone) Rotellini. Verna grew up and graduated from Tarentum High School. Following high school at the young age of 18 she moved to Washington DC to start a career at the Pentagon where she met her husband Danny. After getting married they soon moved to San Francisco and finally settling to Aliquippa so Danny could work at his family’s insurance firm, the Henderson Agency. Upon moving to Aliquippa, Verna became a full-time homemaker and devoted her life to her family and was key to helping raise her granddaughters. In her earlier years as a young mother she loved to travel with her family on annual vacations. Verna was a very kind and giving person. She loved cooking and reading and doing her word search puzzles. Verna will be deeply missed and remembered forever by her family.
Verna will be cremated and there are no services scheduled per her wishes.
The family would like to thank a very special person, Colleen from the Presbyterian Hospital Palliative Care Dept. for last kindness in the final moments of Verna’s life.
