Vernon William Harrison, 74 of Center Township passed away on Thursday, December 2 ,2021 at his residence.
Raised in Florida, Vernon was a graduate Hollywood High School in Hollywood, Fla. where he was an all-star athletic. Known as “Mr. Hollywwod”, Vernon was attended Jacksonville State University on a football scholarship.
On September 2, 1968, he enlisted in the U S Army during the Vietnam War and was stationed in Germany as a medic. Vernon had a passion for golf and taught the 1st Tee golf course to youngsters at Blackhawk Golf Course. He retired as a self employed sales person.
He is survived by his wife, Claudette and three sons. Michael, Jason and Josh. Two grandchildren, Leon and Maxine. Three sisters, Nancy, Delores and Vicky. A step brother, Kenneth.
In addition to his parents, Vernon and Mondee Harrison, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald.
