William B. ?Bill? Reed, 87, of Monaca, passed away Saturday, July 6, 2013, at VAPHS Aspinwall.

Born May 8, 1926, in Rimersburg, PA, he was a son of the late Roy and Blanche (Wittmer) Reed. Along with his parents Bill was preceded in death by his first wife, Charlotte; his second wife, Ann Eileen; two sons, Daniel and David and a brother, Eugene. After serving in the US Navy during World War II, Bill was employed as a bus driver for the former J&L Steel Company and served as a union leader. Later, he worked as an auto body mechanic. Bill had a love of horses and was a game rider in his younger years, winning numerous awards. He was a former member of the Monaca VFW, Croatian Club and American Legion Post 580.

He leaves three children, Charleen De la Cruz in Texas, Patrick Reed of Monaca and Jeremy Reed; three grandchildren, Eric Reed, Christopher Reed and Jeremy Reed Jr. and a sister, Kathy.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Ave., Monaca.
