William C. Todd, 66, of South Beaver Township, formerly of California, passed away February 6, 2013, at Lakeview Personal Care.
Born June 10, 1946, in East Liverpool, Ohio, he was a son of the late Arthur B. Todd and Ruth (Rutherford) Todd Schultz. A veteran of the U. S. Navy, William served in the Vietnam War as a radio intelligence operator with the Naval Security Group in Guam. After being released from active duty, he continued to serve in the Naval Reserves until 1970. William was an equipment operator with Local #12 Operating Engineers in Southern California and Las Vegas and he was also employed by the P&LE Railroad. He was a former member of the American Legion. In his leisure time William enjoyed fishing, gardening and traveling with his wife throughout California.
In addition to his parents William was preceded in death on November 8, 2009, by his loving wife, Louise R. (Thiele) Todd with whom he was united in marriage in August 1979, and a sister, Terri Lynn.
He leaves two daughters, Donna Todd and Catherine Todd, both of Midland; a step-son, David McCool and his wife, Linda, of New Sewickley Township; four grandchildren, Maddison Hupp, Makenzie Hupp, Kiara Stroud and K. J. Stroud; a sister, Paula (Joe) Burkhart of Columbiana, Ohio; three brothers, Mike Todd, Tim Todd and David Rutherford and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Monday from 3 to 7 p.m. in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Ave., Monaca, where funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. Rev. Gregory Clagg will officiate.
Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Freedom
