William H. ‘Boo’ Woods, 65, of Center Township, was called to the great electrician in the sky on Thursday morning, August 29, 2013, with love around him and in his heart.
He blessed this world on January 21, 1948, and was a son of the late Henry J. and Helen I. (Morris) Woods. He attended Monaca High School where upon graduation, Bill entered the IBEW Local #712 in 1967. He had a very good life by helping out the union in many ways as an instructor for the JATC to mold many apprentices. He furthered his education by attending yearly classes at the National Training Institute of IBEW and was certified as an apprenticeship instructor and in OSHA 10-30, fiber optics and small engines. He held the distinction of most volunteer hours as an electrician out of his Local #712. After 45 years of membership, he was able to enjoy his retirement by repairing tractors and gardening, but most of all, by helping all his family and friends. Bill enjoyed turtle hunting, his dog, ‘Brute’, a good joke and a fun time. He always had a solution, a helping hand for everyone and a moon for the neighborhood. Most of all, his time was well-spent with his wife, son, daughter and four granddaughters.
He will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Debi, with whom he was united in marriage in October, 1970; his daughter, Darla Hickey and her husband, Jon, of Morgantown, WV; his son, Roy Woods and his wife, Danielle, of Beaver Falls; four cherished granddaughters, Tesla and Koral Hickey, and Alexia and Zoe Woods; two sisters, Linda Hulme and Joanne Belli, both of Monaca; a sister-in-law, Bonnie (John ‘Chick’) DiBiagio of Monaca; a brother-in-law, Jim ‘Butch’ (Karen) Beightley of New Brighton; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; many loving friends and neighbors and his faithful companion, ‘Brute’.
Friends will be received Saturday from 2 to 8 p.m. in the SIMPSON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES,1119 Washington Ave., Monaca, 724-728-4000, where funeral services will be held Sunday at 1:30 p.m. Rev. David Vaughn, pastor of Monaca United Methodist Church, will officiate.
The family has suggested that contributions may be made, if desired, to the Beaver County Special Unit, c/o Mr. Carl Hughes, 3054 Kane Road, Aliquippa, PA 15001.
