William ?Hotrod? Snedden, Sr., 85, of Monaca, passed away early Wednesday morning, February 20, 2013, at Beaver Elder Care and Rehabilitation, Aliquippa.
Born September 11, 1927, in DuBois, he was a son of the late Robert Snedden and Mabel (Yale) Snedden Styers. William was employed as an electrical welder at LTV Steel, Aliquippa, retiring after 33 years of service. In his leisure time he enjoyed stock car racing.
He will be sadly missed by his six children, Anthony Petersen and his wife, Deb, in Boaz, Alabama, William Snedden, Jr. of Aliquippa, Robert Snedden of Greenfield, Wisconsin, Richard Snedden and his wife, Jane, of Hopewell Township, Deborah Ruff and her husband, Randy, of Monaca and Nancy Cunningham and her husband, Mike, of Monaca; 11 grandchildren, Lisa, Deanna, Bill, Christina, Jeffrey, Natalie, Valerie, Jason, Michael, Sheena and Alysia; nine great-grandchildren; three brothers, Donald (Dorothaleen) Snedden of DuBois, John (Elsie) Snedden of DuBois and Harry (Emi) Snedden of Tacoma, Washington; a sister, Linda (Lynwood) Radecker of DuBois; two sisters-in-law, Sue Snedden of DuBois and Mary Snedden of Erie and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents William was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Sherry Petersen; two brothers, Robert and Kenneth Snedden and a sister, Agnes Harris.
Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 6 p.m. in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Ave., Monaca where services will be conducted Saturday at 10 a.m. Reverend Doug Rabe, pastor of Monacrest Free Methodist Church, will officiate.
Interment will follow in Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery.
The family wishes to thank the staffs of Beaver Elder Care and Rehab and the Veterans Administration for the care given to their father.
