Remembered as one of the strongest men the family ever knew, William “Bill” Zupsic, 84 of Monaca passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 after a 40 year battle with muscular dystrophy.
A son of the late John M. and Mary Miculin Zupsic. Bill was raised in Monaca. United in marriage to the former Audrey Hughes, the couple made their home in Rochester where they raised their two daughters before returning to Monaca. Bill greatly enjoyed woodworking, camping at Flying Finn Family Campground, was a staunch Penn State and Steelers fan and a pet lover. Prior to his illness, he was employed at Laidlaw Wire Company and later at Interstate Amiesite Corporation.
Bill came from a large family of nine children. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, John “Sonny”, Ernie and James “Jimmy” Zupsic and three sisters, Mildred Christner, Betty Palombo and Mary Lou Dolan.
He leaves his beloved wife of 62 years, Audrey Hughes Zupsic and his daughters, Doreen (Randy) Smith and Denise (Del) Padgett. Three grandchildren, Brittanie (Brodie) Majors, Delaney Padgett and her fiancé, William Manning and Emily Padgett. Three great grandchildren, Levi, Olivia and Wyatt. A sister, Barbara Dudek and a brother, Richard Zupsic.
Friends will be received on Friday, January 28th from 3pm until the time of service at 6 pm in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca, PA. The Reverend Donald Snyder will officiate.
A note of gratitude is extended to Steve and Lisa of Amedisys Hospice for the kind and compassionate care Bill received while under their care.
